bRUNch Running coming to Austin

Who doesn’t love to wrap up a nice morning run with a plate of waffles or an omelette?

First there was the Beer Run Club. (Read story here.) Now Austin’s got bRUNch Running, which combines running and brunching.

The first bRUNch Austin event will start at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at Crave Restaurant, 340 East Second Street. Participants will pick from a 5K or 10K route around Lady Bird Lake. Afterward, they’ll eat (biscuits and gravy! Sunrise Benedict!), drink (coffee! mimosas!) and socialize.

The event is open to runners of all abilities. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. A dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to The Trail Foundation.

The group will meet twice in December. Starting in January it will meet weekly.

“Running and food are true passions of mine,” said Brittany Celata, co-manager of the Austin group. “I cannot wait to share my love of fitness and the outdoors in one of the coolest cities in the country.”

BRUNch Running already operates groups in Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder and Phoenix.
